AD8337BCPZ-REEL is a low-noise, single-ended, linear-in-dB, general-purpose, variable gain amplifier (VGA). Excellent bandwidth uniformity across the entire gain range and low output referred noise make the device ideal for gain trim applications and for driving high-speed analogue-to-digital converters (ADC). Excellent dc characteristics combined with high speed make the device particularly suited for industrial ultrasound, PET scanners, and video applications. Dual-supply operation enables the gain of control of negative going pulses, such as those generated by photodiodes or photomultiplier tubes. It uses the Analog Devices, Inc., exclusive X-AMP® architecture with 24dB gain range scaled to 19.7dB/V, referenced to VCOM. It is used in applications such as gain trim, PET scanners, high-performance AGC systems I/Q signal processing, video, industrial and medical ultrasound, and radar receivers.

• Input current noise is 4.8pA/√Hz typical at (f = 10MHz, VS = ±2.5V, TA = 25°C)
• Power dissipation is 78mW typical at (no signal, VPOS to VNEG = 5V)
• Quiescent current is 15.5mA typical at (VS = ±2.5V, TA = 25°C)
• Bias current is 0.3μA typical at (-0.7V <lt/> VGAIN <lt/> +0.7V)
• Operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C, 8-lead LFCSP package
