LT1575CS8#PBF is a single controller IC that drives low-cost external N-channel MOSFET as source followers to produce an ultrafast transient response, adjustable low dropout voltage regulator. The LT1575 achieves unprecedented transient load performance by eliminating expensive tantalum or bulk electrolytic output capacitors in the most demanding modern microprocessor applications. Precision-trimmed adjustable voltage selection of the N-channel MOSFET RDS(ON) allows for low dropout voltages. Unique protection features include a high-side current limit amplifier that activates a fault protection timer circuit. A multifunction shutdown pin provides either current limit timeout with latch-off, overvoltage protection, thermal shutdown, or a combination of these functions. Applications include Pentium® Processor supplies, PowerPC™ Supplies, 5V to 3.XXV or 3.3V to 2.XXV microprocessor supplies, GTL termination, and low-voltage logic supplies.

- IPOS + INEG supply current is 0.625mA typ (3V ≤ IPOS ≤ 20V)
- SHDN high clamp voltage is 1.85V typical
- SHDN threshold hysteresis is 100mV typical
- 8-lead plastic SO package, operating ambient temperature range from 0°C to 70°C
